Adis says:I'd been reading a lot of Courtney Crumrin, and I liked the idea so much I was going to rip it off for my own webcomic. Well, not too much. I wanted CYS to be about a group of night adventurers, facing off against the things that go bump in the night. I didn't want them to deal with goblins and such, the way Courtney does, so instead, I decided they'd go up against...and that's where I got stuck. I had no idea. Besides, I wanted to do comedy, not adventure, so it was back to the drawing board (and the lightbox.)
I knew there had to be sheep in the strip though. When you sign up at Keenspace, you have to fill a form with important info, such as the name of your strip and what will it be about. I knew I wanted a comic, but not what it'd be about, so as I filled it out, I thought: my strip will be about counting sheep at night. So, that was the one thing I figured I couldn't change. That other character was supposed to be the little girl's brother, but he didn't get a callback, sadly. I liked the little girl with the banjo, and I knew even then that I'd found my main character. It'd still need some tweaking though. But more on that some other day.
See you again tomorrow, when "The Cheese Affair" continues!
Now go to bed!
Adis!
